Who are we as

Indigenous people?

Urban Indigenous

Coalitions Across BC

Collaborative, vital, and community-driven; Urban Indigenous Coalitions across BC support and advocate for the needs of Indigenous people living in urban areas throughout the province.

History of Urban

Indigenous People in BC

Urban Indigenous people in BC have a long history of resilience and adaptation. Today, urban Indigenous communities continue to thrive, preserving their cultural heritage while walking in at least two worlds.

Provincial Urban
Leadership Initiative

Hosted by the Victoria Urban Indigenous Leadership Coalition, the Provincial Urban Leadership (PUL) Initiative seeks opportunities to organize and centre urban Indigenous voices in BC.

82% of Indigenous people live off-reserve in BC (227,605 First Nations, Inuit & Métis).

PUL aims to amplify urban Indigenous voices in BC through building connections.

British Columbia is comprised of the traditional territories of many distinct First Nations. We are grateful to all the First Nations who have cared for and nurtured the lands and waters around us since time immemorial. We honour their right to be included in all matters related to their territories. We further recognize the Métis, Inuit, and urban Indigenous Peoples living in the territories who make valuable contributions to our collective wellness.
